Harley-Davidson Nightster café racer by Deus

Harley-Davidson Nightster café racer by Deus

Australia-based tuner Deus Ex Machina has turned the Harley-Davidson Nightster into a café racer that they call the Deus Special. The original 1200cc V-Twin motor was kept, but the bike now offers a completely different riding experience and the muscular looks are sure to indicate that from the very first glance.

Deus told hell for leather magazine they’ve used modified Yammy SR400 tank, quick release strap, new taps etc. custom fender’ectomy....warren got handy with the drill bits custom 2 into 1, retuned fuel maps to suit single saddle conversion kept the belt drive, chains look nicer but the customer wanted his pants to stay up.

What’s not to like about this custom motorcycle?

Green Speed Air Powered Motorcycle Prototype

Green Speed Air Powered Motorcycle Prototype

Because the world that we live in spins around money, we have serious doubts that any vehicle prototype powered by an engine that runs on AIR will ever see the next stage (at least not as long as there’s still oil around and Bin Ladens to chase), but we do find Edwin Conan’s Green Speed motorcycle quite fascinating precisely because, as real as it might look and be (note that this is not just a concept, but an actual prototype), we know that we won’t get the change to see such thing on the streets.

While the bike was designed by Edwin together with a team of student designers and their teacher, the air-powered rotary engine was invented by Melbourne engineer Angelo Di Pietro. They worked together to come up with this air-powered motorcycle prototype that originally started live as a Suzuki GP100 back in the 1970s and even managed to give it a nice racy look to back up the innovations that stand at its base. We have attached the official details after the jump, so check this article out for more.

Ducati Multistrada 1200, the most beautiful bike from EICMA 2009

Ducati Multistrada 1200, the most beautiful bike from EICMA 2009

In the now traditional survey attained by the Italian magazine Motociclismo at this year’s edition of the EICMA show in Milan, the new Ducati Multistrada 1200 turned out to be the audience’s favorite in what regards aspect, with a decent percentage in front of the new MV Agusta F4 superbike.

Multistrada 1200 occupies first place with 48.9% of the votes, followed by the MV Agusta F4 with 19.8%, Aprilia RSV4 R with 15.8%, BMW S 1000 RR on place four with just 4.5% and Kawasaki Z1000 with 2.4%. Last year, the most beautiful motorcycle voted by the EICMA visitors was the Ducati Streetfighter.

Although we are still traversing the global economic crisis, EICMA 2009 was very successful, more than 450.000 people participating at the 67th edition of the show, which registered a 30% raise of international public.

2010 Honda Shadow RS 750

Honda Shadow RS 750

Honda has taken the wraps off a new Shadow model that they call RS 750. The bike is addressed to beginners and, with its fuel-injected and liquid-cooled 745cc V-Twin engine producing 42bhp and 45ft lb of torque, goes straight against the Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883.

Compared to the classic Shadow cruiser, the RS 750 offers higher bars and pegs as well as a low seat height of 737mm / 29in, meaning a more upright riding position as a result of Honda’s strategy to offer all-round riding enjoyment.

Obviously, it is all made possibly by the use of the double-cradle steel tube frame and 41mm forks, but beginning riders will surely appreciate the fat 150-section rear tire that makes the 2010 Honda Shadow RS 750 look like a mean machine after all.

Honda hasn’t yet released the specs sheet for this model, but we do know that the new Shadow RS 750 will have an MSRP of $7799 when it will be available in March 2010. This was also established with the 2009 Iron 883 ($7899) as benchmark. The only sad part about this new Japanese cruiser going against the popular American model is that it will be available only in Metallic Grey.

Expect more information on the Shadow RS as soon as we have it.

Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Enduro by Oberdan Bezzi

Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Enduro by Oberdan Bezzi

Design guru Oberdan Bezzi has come up with an original idea for a new Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Enduro. He claims the bike looks traditional but is also fashionable and stands for an everyday enduro motorcycle that offers good mileage and requires little maintenance. That is because it is powered by only a single-cylinder engine, which must be as reliable as back in the 1970s.

We have to admit that we are drawn by the idea of reviving the old Royal Enfield scrambler, especially if we’re offered the chance to test the beautiful piece of British motoring where it really belongs – off the road.

Cowboys and their HD metal horses

When you’re given a school assignment related to cowboys and you come up with a very cool commercial for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, you can really show the teacher that you may very well have more talent than him.

Ok, so although this is not a real Harley-Davidson ad, it sure looks like one, so check it out.

GRACE – world’s first legal street E-motorbike

Get the Flash Player to see the videos.

It may look like a bicycle from the next century and the fact is that it has all the benefits of the original two-wheeler, but the Grace E-motorbike features a CNC-aluminum frame, which is fitted with eurofighter and Formula One parts. This, together with the 1300 watt lithium ion-powered motor, allows the handmade mean of transportation to reach a top speed of 40 mph and keep on going for as little as 18 miles and as much as 31 miles. It takes one hour for the battery to charge and when it’s dead, riders can pedal their way home.

Still, the Grace should stay true to its name around the city and considering that it is made in the company’s Hanover, Germany shop, reliability isn’t something to worry about. Suddenly, we start looking with different eyes to the good old scooter or the newer Segway, but the first question that pops into mind when seeing this is how much will it cost and when we’ll be getting it. The company says the Grace will cost €5877 ($8742) when it ships in January. Sorry, I forgot to mention you should sit down before further reading.

2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200

Get the Flash Player to see the videos.

Ducati has finally made their much awaited move – go against the BMW R1200GS – and they did it in their own characteristic style. Not only the new Multistrada 1200 looks one-of-a-kind, but it is also backed up by a 150hp Italian engine.

During no less than two years, we’ve seen the new Ducati Multistrada being developed, rendered and tested until finally finding out that two versions will be available – a standard version with optional ABS and a high-spec S version (how does an Ohlins electronically adjustable suspension system sound to you?). This last ramifies into two editions – Sport and Touring.

The Sport Edition can be distinguished by the presence of carbon fiber parts such as the engine covers, front air intakes, rear mudguard and spoilers.

The Touring Edition’s distinguishing features are the panniers, heated grips and a center stand. More information as we have it.

Update: Press release is attached after the jump.

Nuclear-powered Motorbike 2050 version 2

Nuclear-powered Motorbike 2050 version 2

French designer Romain Herment considers that nuclear fusion will allow the turning of nuclear energy into a power source for motorcycles. Not only that, but he has even come up with a concept bike meant to reveal the designer’s idea about how motorcycles based on the new technology will look like.

The “Motorbike 2050 version 2,” as it is called, is a fairly cool looking thing with plenty more interesting details needed to be unveiled. For instance, it will supposedly rely on deuterium and tritium – two inexhaustible natural elements – to make it efficient, as efficient as 1 liter of water per 100 km can be four decades from now.

While we have no knowledge of version 1, we must say that for this project the designer made sure to cover every single aspect such as power being generated by an electric engine and the whole thing weighing only 55kg, although they don’t mention much about the materials used to achieve the light weight.

Each time I see something like this, I start thinking more and more seriously about recording a Harley for when we’ll be riding on this sort of motorcycles.
