While Cadillac may be at the top of the heap as far as General Motors domestic sales are concerned, the Buick brand is surprisingly popular in a few far off markets. Keeping their other customers happy the other upscale arm of GM has just unveiled the all new Excelle XT at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The XT is an interesting vehicle due to its coupe like profile despite being a five door wagon. The new car is slated to go on sale in China in 2010 and is basically an Asian iteration of the European Opel Astra.
The Excelle XT will be offered with a choice of three engines. The top of the line model will be powered by a 1.6 Liter turbocharged four cylinder gasoline engine cranking out 180 HP. Aside from the boosted offering, there will also be a naturally aspirated version with the same displacement making 116 HP and a slightly larger 1.8 Liter DOHC inline four with lots of high tech working parts to manipulate the cam profiles and produce an impressive and at the same time efficient 138 HP. No matter which internal combustion option you choose, all engines will be mated to a fuel efficient six speed automatic transmission, putting the driver at ease when they are behind the wheel. Press release after the jump. > More

The annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas is such a sensational event that we can’t stop talking about all the cool cars that we saw
a Nismo S Tune to be exact.
Ok, for the record, they aren’t officially-sanctioned police cruisers making a routine check at the Nurburgring. But they sure look believable, don’t they? A pair of vehicles – a BMW M3 Coupe and an Audi S3, to be exact – was recently spotted at the ‘Ring sporting some pretty intimidating police wraps. From what we’ve heard, these two cars are owned by civilians that are part of a group called the ‘Ring-Police’. We don’t know a good deal about these guys, but judging from the website stickered on the two cars’ rear bumpers, it looks the Ring-Police is a group of custom tuners that have been getting quite the following in Germany. As you know, a few weeks ago Renault officially announced the return of the Gordini name, and the first model to carry this name is the small Twingo RS. The new Twingo Gordini R.S. will make its world debut on January 10, 2010, at the L’Atelier Renault on the Champs-Elysées, in Paris and sales will begin in march 2010.
Like any traditional Gordini model, the new Twingo Gordini RS comes painted with Malte Blue lacquered metallic finish combined with two white racing stripes. At the exterior the car also receives front and rear bumpers enhanced by gloss black details and white contrasting finish on the fog-lamp surrounds, exterior mirror housings and lip spoiler. The car sits on either blue or black diamond-effect 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
On the interior Renault added Gordini sports seats, blue leather door panel inserts, blue and black leather steering wheel with two white stripes, blue gear lever bellows and Gordini-badged gear lever knob and a blue rev-counter with white surround. Press release after the jump. > More

The Peugeot RC-Z is a very successful car already, so it seems that the French company learned that the future is all about small cars. They announced plans for a new 2+2 model placed below the 308 RC-Z and that according to them will be a bigger hit than the 205 GTi. It will compete with models from Ford, Honda and Mini. The new coupe will be built on the same fwd platform as the next generation 207. It will deliver the same level of performance as the 208bhp MINI JCW. The new model will be offered in both coupe and roadster versions and will feature a new design inspired by both BB1 concept and RC-Z sports car.
In September at the Frankfurt Motor Show we have seen the Citroen Revolte concept. It’s design previews a reborn version of the legendary Citroen 2CV: a compact hatchback called DS2 that will debut in 2012. The 2010 DS2 will feature a more conventional double-chevron grille, larger headlights and a narrower track. From the classic 2CV it will barrow the bonnet creases, arching roofline and flat back end. The DS2 will be built on the current C3 platform and will use the same engines as it. The range will include a range of fuel-efficient three-cylinder petrol motors and a 70bhp 1.4 HDi diesel one.
Even if just launched, the new Mercedes SLS AMG already caught the tuner’s attention. And the first kit will be launched by Brabus at the Essen Motor Show. And even if at the moment there is only one picture of the car, Brabus announced they have installed a new exhaust that increase the car’s power to 700 hp (up from the standard 571 hp). And if you take a closer look to the image you will notice a new set of wheels, but that’s pretty much it. Stay tuned, we’ll get back soon with more details!
In 1989, at the same time as the coupe version, Ferrari also revealed the Cabriolet version of the Mondial T, the fourth and last model in the Mondial line-up. Like tis coupe brother, the T Cabriolet stayed into production until 1993, with 1017 units produced, in both right and left hand drive versions, together with various world market specification models.
The engine capacity increased to 3.4 liters (up from 3.2 liters in the Mondial 3.2) and it became longitudinally mounted, instead of transversely on the previous models. It was coupled to a transverse gearbox, hence the letter "t" in the model designation, and had an ABS braking system as standard equipment, whilst the front and rear tracks increased by 2mm and 50mm respectively.
The new T model was visually different from preceding Mondial models, the most recognizable being the redesign of the air intakes to a smaller, neater rectangular shape. The door-handles were of a visually different design and, along with the bumpers, became body colored, whilst a painted black band was added around the bottom of the body. > More

It wasn’t too long ago that we were reporting about the all new American super car, the Devon Motorworks GTX set the single lap record for a production car at the historic Laguna Seca circuit in Salinas, California with a time of 1:35.075. Justin Bell, the owner of Devon, might have offended a few people at Chrysler when he gave them a low ball offer to purchase the Viper brand, because earlier today the American automaker tackled the infamous Corkscrew and managed to shave over a second off of the GTX’s lap time with an all new 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR and Chrysler engineer Chris Winkler behind the wheel. The hard core track tuned Viper unofficially clocked in at 1:33:915, not only good enough to reset the record, but bring a bit more value to Chrysler’s halo car. Press release and video after the jump. > More
