Porsche Panamera PS9 by SpeedART

Porsche Panamera PS9 by SpeedART

When the German automaker Porsche came up with the four door luxury sports sedan Panamera they created a new class of automobile that grants well to do high performance enthusiasts the opportunity to scare the pants off of their friends, three at a time. And as good as a 500 HP turbocharged V8 powered GT car might sound, the tuning firm SpeedArt feels that they can do the new Panamera Turbo one better with their PS9 kit. The new tuning package enhances all aspects of the Panamera by upgrading the exterior and interior as well as what’s under the hood.

The aero package consists of a SpeedART design chin spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and spoiler to channel air and keep the Panamera’s wide rear end planted when at its newfound speed. Rounding out the exterior are a set of their Black-Matte-Edition type LSC-FORGED wheels measuring 18 inches in diameter. On the inside SpeedArt adds racy touches like a sport steering wheel, aluminum F1 paddle shifters and a carbon fiber trim kit. As good as the PS9 Panamera might look inside and out, SpeedART worked the most magic under the hood.

The engine tuning programs will take the Turbocharged Panamera to various stages of output ranging from a slight 520 HP upgrade to a 550 HP, 600 HP and 650 HP output levels. In order to achieve the higher horsepower numbers SpeedART had to upgrade the Panamera’s turbochargers add a less restrictive exhaust that starts off with a pair of sport catalysts and ends with a pair of sound control twin tailpipes. On the cleaner side of things the Panamera benefits from a free flowing air filter and the all important ECU upgrade. The most powerful version is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.5 seconds and reach a very impressive and underwear soiling top speed of 200 MPH.

Potential Panamera buyers in the US to get free luggage

Potential Panamera buyers in the US to get free luggage

It’s not really the most ideal promotion to entice people to buy a new Panamera, but then again, free stuff is free stuff, no matter what it is. That’s right; the first 195 people who buy a Porsche Panamera in the US will also receive a free Porsche luggage set, valued at around $3,580.

The highly-unusual promotion came as a result of the delayed release of the Panamera in the US, which came because of a malfunctioning software. To make it up to those that have been waiting longer than usual for the car, Porsche has decided to throw in some nice digs to the first 195 buyers of the Panamera. According to a spokesperson for Porsche, 72 of the 195 cars are already in dealerships with the rest of the 123 cars set to be delivered at the end of the month.

Make no mistake, it’s a nice gesture by Porsche but we’re pretty sure that all those disappointed customers would want something more than just fancy luggages. Five-year free maintenance, perhaps?

Porsche Panamera by McChip

Porsche Panamera by McChip

We have said it before and we will say it again, modern engines and computer tuning have made it so easy to get more horse power from your car that the days of changing camshafts and getting your hands dirty are a thing of the past. That is because the amount of potential that can be unlocked with a simple microchip, when tuned correctly, is the simplest and most practical method of squeezing every last drop of output out of your car’s 21st century motor. One perfect example is the Porsche Panamera, from the factory the four door sports car is available with a hearty 500 HP under the hood.

The engine computer re calibration specialists at McChip already have a program that is designed to boost the Panamera’s 4.8 Liter turbocharged V8 by another 50 HP and bring torque up as far as 624 lb-ft when equipped with Porsche’s Sportchrono package. That’s not all, because with more power comes more responsibility, like the kind you experience at 193 MPH, the chipped Panamera’s new top speed. Although the German tuners McChip are asking more for this particular unit than you would expect to pay for an ordinary car, at $2,250 this is well within the range of power hungry Porsche owners, and they won’t even have to worry about getting greasy.

Press release after the jump.

Video: 9ff Porsche Panamera blasts off

It looks like the folks responsible for the first video of the 9ff Porsche Panamera aren’t done teasing us on their fine-tuned beauty.

This second video once again shows off the Panamera’s gargantuan valve controlled sports exhaust system – as if we’re not drooling already. Turn up the volume and listen to that roar; it’s not hard to have goosebumps all over your body. The 9ff’s exhaust comes in a quiet and a loud setting, and by loud, we mean really loud. As an added treat to us, this time, the Panamera does get off the line and powers up its 550 horsepower engine by blasting off not once, but twice.

If these two videos have taught us anything about the 9ff Porsche Panamera, it’s that the car is more than just good looks, it’s got some serious rage going on under that hood.

Aside from fast Ferrari’s, the high performance retailer, the Collection also handles sales duty for the German sports car maker Porsche. They did have a low slung Cayenne Transsyberia and a few Boxsters on display, but all eyes were on the new four door sports car that made its world debut back in Frankfurt, the Panamera. Starting at just under $90,000 for a 400 HP direct injected V8 powered Panamera S complete with Porsche’s new PDK gearbox, these cars will be on sale sometime soon next year, but the best part of all is that the 520 HP turbocharged super sedan will also show up in showrooms at the same time, we can’t wait.

The German tuning house speedART has just revealed a new performance package for Porsche’s newest four door sports car, the Panamera Turbo. The speedART kit consists of a series of slight aerodynamic modifications to the Panamera’s exterior and a free flowing exhaust system underneath that takes the new Porsche’s tone and turns it up a notch transforming the Porsche four seater sport sedan into a true screaming super car. The body kit is made up of a more aggressive chin spoiler and a set of lower hanging side skirts that make the turbocharged Porsche look as if it were scraping along the pavement. Although the new stainless steel exhaust only adds an additional 20 HP and 15 lb-ft of torque thanks to an increased diameter and a pair of high flow sport catalysts, the high performance pluming goes a long way towards making the Panamera into a beast of a different nature.

Video: 9ff Porsche Panamera caught on the streets

Amongst all the car tuners that have taken shots at tuning up a Porsche Panamera, 9ff’s rendition has been the one that we couldn’t wait to see up-close.

Now – to some extent, at least – we got what we wished for. A sharp-eyed YouTube user was able to capture the 9ff Panamera in all its glory. Just like we expected, the 9ff-tuned Panamera was given a sports exhaust system. The large air intakes were also present in the car, as was the vented hood and those oh-so gorgeous 22-inch mags that 9ff has come to be known for.

Unfortunately, the car was just at a stand-still so we couldn’t say whether or not the it had that added power 9ff claims it has, although the driver was kind enough to rev it up a couple of times and judging by that monstrous roar, 9ff most certainly won’t disappoint.

Porsche Panamera by Cargraphic

Porsche Panamera by Cargraphic

Continuing with the theme of modified Panameras, the German aftermarket manufacturer Cargraphic has just come out with their own assortment of fashionable light weight wheels for the new four door GT car from Porsche. Offering no less than four distinct designs available in a multitude of sizes and finishes means that Cargraphic has something to suit all kinds of tuner’s tastes, including winter drivers.

The Sport rim is a flat 10 spoke three piece wheel with a rather upscale feel to it, this is the perfect option for the Panamera owner who wants to differentiate their ride from the rest of the crowd in a subtle and tasteful manner. The Racing rim uses the traditional BBS mesh style of double spokes is the perfect wheel for the serious tuner who is looking to add both speed and style to their ride, and would compliment a more powerful Panamera quite nicely. For the four door Porsche owner who wants to make his neighbor’s Lamborghini seem tame, Cargraphic’ Model GT and GT-R wheel is a thin split five spoke design that looks like it could have been plucked right out of a Terminator movie.

For drivers who will be taking a trio of passengers with them over ice covered mountain passes, Cargraphic makes it possible to keep on riding in style even though your car is shod with winter rubber. A more economical alternative to their forged offerings is the flow form casted aluminum alloy Intra Sport One 19 inch wheel with matching high performance snow tires to ensure that your Porsche looks good no matter what the weather looks like.

Gemballa GT wheels for the Porsche Panamera

Gemballa GT wheels for the Porsche Panamera

The German tuning firm Gemballa has been modifying Porsches since the early 1980s and their most recent endeavor, the Mistrale based on the Porsche Panamera proves to deliver upon all of the wild Gemballa design cues and insane horse power figures that have made them such a successful force in the high end aftermarket.

However the Mistrale isn’t quite ready for retailers, so until then Gemaballa has come up with a new wheel and ire package for the Panamera to hold Porsche tuning enthusiasts over until they can get all the kinks worked out of the full size version. Yesterday we showed you how far a simple set of wheels can go to improve the look of a vehicle from every angle, so Gemballa has come up with a new set of their 22 inch GT Sport wheels that go a long way to upgrade the appearance of the mildly tuned Panamera. The rims are being offered in two styles, one with rivets in the lip and the other without; the new rollers give the Panamera a staggered stance and are sized to fit a set of 265/30 tires up front an a bit wider 315/25 rubber in the rear.

Gemablla isn’t the only aftermarket manufacturer looking to jump on the modified Panamera bandwagon, after seeing what other companies like Mansory, TechArt and even Lumma Design can do with the new German four door GT car it looks like the sky is the limit as to what we can expect to see in terms of highly modified four door Grand Touring cars in the near future, especially as far as the Porsche Panamera is concerned.
