SpeedArt revealed the official details on the PS9 kit based on the new Porsche Panamera luxury sedan. The tuner has done intense modification under the hood, and as a result the PS9 kit can deliver up to 520, 550, 600 or 650 hp depending on the modifications made: modified turbochargers, sport-catalyst system, sport-exhaust with sound control and twin tailpipes, sport-airfilter and ECU-update.
The 650 hp version can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds while top speed goes up to 200 mph.
The Aerokit includes: speedART front chin spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear air outlet and rear spoiler, 22" wheelset type LSC-FORGED Black-Matt-Edition.
On the interior SpeedArt adds a sport steering wheel and carbon kit, aluminum F1-shift paddles, instrument backgrounds in various colors and specific floor mats.
The next generation BMW 5-Series luxury sedan has just made its world debut. As expected the design of the all new 5 takes cues from both the 7-Series limousine and the 5-Series GT crossover, all coming together to give the 5-Series a a much more elegant and streamlined appearance.
BMW will power the new 5-Series with a V8 as well as an assortment of six cylinder engines burning both gasoline and diesel. The new car’s lineup will range from the fuel efficient BMW 520d making 184 HP, the 535i powered BMW TwinPower Turbo using High Precision Injection and VALVETRONIC variable valve timing that cranks out 306 HP as well as the top of the line 550i powered by a 407 HP eight cylinder engine; just to name a few.
As part of BMW’s new car lineup, every new 5-Series models will come equipped with an eight speed automatic transmission. Aside from the the German automaker’s automatic transmission optimized for efficiency, the new 5-Series will come standard with other gas saving features like EPS Electric Power Steering that takes some stress off the drive train by reducing parasitic drag and frees up a few more horsepower at the same time. One thing that is for certain is that the new 5-Series is guaranteed to impress new car shoppers.
Even if the demand is present, the German automaker BMW has decided to leave the job of tuning their luxury limousine up to Alpina and discarded the idea of a high performance M7, however they have decided to offer new car buyers a more aggressive looking 7 Series with an optional aero upgrade package. Unfortunately for some, their sales slips were signed before the automaker made the M Sport package available, but have no fear because European Auto Source has come to the rescue with their own version of the 7 Series’ Motor sport appearance package.
Similar to the OEM pieces, ESA’s kit includes an M Sport style front bumper with larger air intakes and matte black trim along the edges. However the genuine article’s stretched out horizontal chrome strips that sit at the edges of the big mouth front bumper are sold separately. But out back the EAS unit is almost identical to the one that comes from Germany. And while European Auto Source’s rolling stock are not quite the same as the split five spoke rims that come fitted to the 7 Series M Sport, these 21 inch alloy wheels finished in matte black with their classic mesh design do the trick.
The Japanese luxury automaker Lexus will reveal their replacement for the GX470 luxury SUV at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show with a model called the GX460. The new full size SUV is based on the European model of Toyota’s Land Cruiser and will go on sale sometime in early 2010.
The main difference between the Land Cruiser and the GX460 is the front end appearance of the Lexus with its new grille, redesigned headlamps, new bumpers and chrome trim on the side windows and lower door moldings. Not to mention the Lexus’ luxurious interior.
Under the hood of the all new GX460, Toyota’s the current 4.7 Liter V8 is being replaced by a more efficient 4.6 Liter unit that delivers a maximum output of 310 HP and 327 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a new fuel saving six speed automatic transmission with sequential shift. One thing is certain with the all new Lexus GX460, not only will it be able to transport an entire soccer team and all their gear, but it will do it with unparalleled refinement.
Cadillac added today a new model to the CTS line-up. Previewed by the CTS Coupe Concept revealed in 2008 at the Detroit Auto Show, the new model will go on sale in the spring of 2010. The V-Series version will follow in 2010.
The CTS Coupe is powered by a direct injected 3.6L V-6 engine that delivers a total of 304 hp and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with Driver Shift Control.
The CTS Coupe comes with two suspension-tuning levelsx: a Performance Package with 18-inch wheels and all-season tires (available in both RWD and AWD,) and the Summer Tire Performance Package, with 19-inch tires and wheels and a higher level of road holding capability. StabiliTrak, the advanced electronic chassis control system, is standard.
Days before the world premier of the new Audi A8 at the Audi Pavilion in Miami, the boys from Ingolstadt released a short teaser video of the new flagship luxury sedan.
It looks like Audi is really pushing hard to create an artsy spin on the new A8, even going as far as giving us a rather, ‘artistic’ teaser of the new A8. Not much of the car is shown, but it does make you wonder as to what the unveiling is going to be like on November 30.
As far as we’re concerned, we have a gut feeling that it’s going to be something we’ve never seen before. But that’s just us.
The world debut of the new Audi A8 will not be happening on any auto shows in the near future.
No; for this occasion, Audi wants to hog the spotlight all to itself and rightfully so. The flagship A8 sedan will make its world unveiling at the Audi Pavilion on November 30 - the eve of the yearly art-fest ’Design Miami’. If you don’t know where that is, it’s actually
a temporary museum structure located in Miami.
Some of you might find the decision a little curious, especially since the upcoming LA Auto Show figures to be the perfect setting for the A8 to be revealed. But the decision ultimately rested on the shoulders of the folks from Ingolstadt and they figured that the A8 would be best-served to have the stage all the itself.
As far as the venue-of-choice is concerned, Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG, decided that Miami’s Design District would be the ideal location because, as he said: "Our claim "Vorsprung durch Technik" also embraces design, which is one of the outstanding elements of the Audi signature. And as top design has now emerged as an acknowledged art form, we see the bridge between art and architecture as a logical step in advancing our brand."
We don’t really have any preference as to where Audi decides to unveil the new A8, although their decision to skip the auto show scene has led us to believe that they may have something up their sleeve as far as the world unveiling of the A8 is concerned.
The Japanese luxury automaker Infiniti has a bit of a restyling in the works for their midsize Infiniti G37 lineup. With a much more pronounced front end and a new set of rollers. The more aggressive lines created by the new vents in the front bumper add a lot to the Infiniti’s appearance, taking it from a rather sporty luxury car and makes it into a strong enough figure that it could command traffic to get out of the way. Hopefully these new vents are there to flow a lot more air, perhaps for a set of GT-R like intercoolers, we can only hope. This refinement is a simple alternative to a complete model redesign and perhaps we will be seeing more of this type of treatment across the entire Infiniti lineup sometime in the near future.
News of Maybach’s apparent demise may end up being premature after Mercedes’ luxury car brand recently released new photos of its flagship luxury sedan, the 2010 Zeppelin.
The all-new Zeppelin comes with a 6.0-liter V12 bi-turbo engine that produces 640 hp and over 1,000 Nm of torque. As far as the interior is concerned, the new Zeppelin comes with a number of subtle upgrades over most standard Maybachs, including chrome-finished 20” wheels, a special-edition two-tone paint finish, dark red tail lights, the ‘Zeppelin’ lettering embossed on the grille emblem, and streamlined exterior mirrors.
The new Zeppelin, which comes in two models – the 57 and the 62 – will b extremely limited, with only 100 units set for production. The 57 Zeppelin – the shorter of the two – will come with a price tag of €406,000 while the longer 62 Zeppelin will sell for €473,200.
We still don’t know the long term future of Mercedes’ luxury brand, but this does come as encouraging news for fans of the Maybach, especially when it was only a few months ago where the Maybach was this close to meeting its maker.
We have said it before and we will say it again, modern engines and computer tuning have made it so easy to get more horse power from your car that the days of changing camshafts and getting your hands dirty are a thing of the past. That is because the amount of potential that can be unlocked with a simple microchip, when tuned correctly, is the simplest and most practical method of squeezing every last drop of output out of your car’s 21st century motor. One perfect example is the Porsche Panamera, from the factory the four door sports car is available with a hearty 500 HP under the hood.
The engine computer re calibration specialists at McChip already have a program that is designed to boost the Panamera’s 4.8 Liter turbocharged V8 by another 50 HP and bring torque up as far as 624 lb-ft when equipped with Porsche’s Sportchrono package. That’s not all, because with more power comes more responsibility, like the kind you experience at 193 MPH, the chipped Panamera’s new top speed. Although the German tuners McChip are asking more for this particular unit than you would expect to pay for an ordinary car, at $2,250 this is well within the range of power hungry Porsche owners, and they won’t even have to worry about getting greasy.
