Only a few hours ago we told you about the Japanese premium automaker’s plans to release a razor sharp Special Edition Subaru WRX STI complete with a host of suspension parts from the track tuned Spec C model. Well now the all wheel drive automaker is telling us that they are also bringing a more luxurious Limited Edition of the slightly less powerful WRX to the L.A. Auto Show.
Although it’s not an STI with its more mundane 265 HP 2.5 Liter turbocharged flat four, however with its symmetrical all wheel drive system and refined interior this is much like the leather wrapped Limited model that Subaru sold back in 2007. Based on the 2010 Impreza WRX, the Limited Edition adds a leather interior, moonroof and SIRIUS Satellite Radio over the already well equipped WRX Premium. Wow, it looks like Subaru is finally giving their customers what they want, if scandinavian flicks and embarrassing cars more than three times as expensive at the track then you can have your all out Special Edition STI and if you just want to have a smile on your face every time you get out of your Impreza and also relax in leather, then this Limited Edition WRX is for you.
The all wheel drive Japanese automaker Subaru will come to the Los Angeles Motor Show with a Special Edition version of their turbocharged high performance hot hatch Impreza WRX STI, and unlike their last take on the sport compact with the STI Carbon that was more of a softer luxurious ride, this special edition STI could be too hot to handle. The Scooby will be covered in a unique shade of Aspen White and limited to only 125 units, much like when they offered the STI Limited back in 2007. Aside from the frosty paint job, the Special Edition STI will include a variety of suspension components from the razor sharp WRX STI Spec C model from the Japanese Domestic Market. Not only do you get the track ready STI’s thicker rear sway bar, but the bushings are firmer and the shock and spring package has been significantly stiffened at all four corners.
The Special Edition WRX STI will be about as close as the American market will get to a Spec C from the Japanese automaker as it will also ride on the JDM version’s charcoal colored 18 inch wheels. A while back we had the chance to speak with some of Subaru of America’s representatives and they ensured us that they had seen the errors of their ways when they numbed down the STI into its hatchback only form, but they also promised us that they were going to take steps to make up for it. However if this is any indication of their intentions it is clear that Subaru is skipping the baby steps and taking some pretty significant leaps to return the STI to its performance oriented rally bred heritage.

Among all of the states in the US, California holds the distinction of having the most exotics and supercars roaming around the streets. After all, the glitz and glamour that comes with being in California affords most people the moolah to get their hands on one.
So it comes with a tinge of irony that three of the biggest exotic makers – Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bentley – have all decided to skip the LA Auto Show
The news that three of the most prestigious manufacturers have decided to pass on LA when a spokesperson for the event told the Detroit Bureau that the decisions by Bentley, Ferrari and Lamborghini to skip LA hinged on the fact that they’ve decided to ‘put their resources to better use’.
Translation: “We don’t want to incur any unnecessary expenditures, like showing up for an event like the LA Auto Show.

The 2009 auto show season has pretty much come and gone and as the year continues to wind down, one of the last shows to happen will be the Los Angeles Auto Show.
One of the car manufacturers that are scheduled to participate is Toyota and the Japanese auto giants have begun releasing the fleet of cars that are scheduled to make their way to LA.
One of them is the all-new Toyota Sienna minivan, which will undoubtedly replace the existing model to become Toyota’s bet against the Honda Odyssey and the Chrysler Town and Country.
Toyota has yet to release further details regarding the new Sienna except for the fact that it’s scheduled to be rolled out to dealerships sometime in the next year.
The 2009 Los Angeles International Auto Show is just around the corner and in preparation for the last big auto show of the year every manufacturer is polishing up their masterpieces so that they will shine bright under the lights of the L.A. Convention Center. The Japanese automaker Honda has just released the information that their Personal-Neo Urban Transport, or P-NUT, design study will be sitting front and center in their booth. With the American market making a shift towards smaller and much more efficient vehicles, the concept is a look forward at what a futuristic ultra-compact coupe would look like complete with a few aggressive designed cues from Honda. It is only fitting that the P-NUT say hello to the world at the L.A. Auto Show, after all the concept was conceived right there in the heart of Los Angeles at Honda’s Advanced Design Studio where they conduct their research and development for the import automaker’s overseas market. Honda is keeping tight lipped about the new P-NUT, after all they don’t want to s----the beans before the big show.

Ford will unveil the 2011 Mustang at the Los Angeles Motor Show, but of course details on the car couldn’t be kept secret until then. So, thanks to some very vigilant eyes we can tell you the first details on the future muscle car. Orders will begin in January 18, 2010 and first deliveries will be made starting March 15, 2010.
For the 2011 model year Ford will bring back the 402A Package which is the California Special (GT/CS) model and a Shelby Convertible powered by a 5.4-liter Supercharged 4V V8 engine.
There will also be a SVT Performance Package that includes: 19-inch wheels, RR spoiler with GF (not sure what GF stands for), Over The Top (OTT) stripe delete and 3.73 limited slip.
Ford will also offer a Brembo Brake Package, 6-speed automatic transmission option and three different 19-inch wheels.
Mazda’s participation at the 2009 LA Auto Show will now include the Mazda2. With automakers now making a concerted effort to bring in hatchback models to the US market, the Mazda2’s attendance in LA should go a long way in introducing the car to the US.
Right now, the Mazda2 is being sold in a lot of markets all over the world, thanks to a relatively affordable and efficient package, which comes with a number of engine variants including a 1.3 and 1.5-liter gas engine and a 1.2 and 1’6-liter diesel variant.
The car’s entry into the North American market has been widely anticipated after the car scored the distinction of being voted World Car of the Year in 2008.
There’s no word yet as to how much the car will be sold in the US and technical specs have also yet to be released. Nevertheless, the Japanese brand is excited about bringing the car to one of the world’s major auto markets. The car is expected to go on sale at the latter part of 2010, where it will be rebranded as a 2011 model.

Nissan is the last automaker set to enter this year’s LA Design Challenge, but they are certainly not the least. In a look forward at what we will be driving in the year 2030 suggests that every car on the road could be zero emission electric vehicles, that is if Greenpeace gets their way, that will travel on an ultra efficient high speed network called the GRID. Nissan’s entry is appropriately named V2G, or Vehicle to Grid, and will be an affordable entry level automobile that offers the same build quality and fun to drive nature of the automakers current lineup.
However while the other forward thinking design teams are focusing mainly on vehicle to vehicle communications and keeping up with Facebook, Nissan has highlighted on a more traditional approach to car customizing. The coolest feature about Nissan’s V2G is that they recognize that their futuristic electric vehicle will eventually be taken Off Grid. Just like the Silvias and Skylines that made the Japanese automaker such a desirable sports car maker in the last decade, the Japanese automaker is anticipating the hot rodding hopes of future consumers and has readied their 2030 electric car to allow for modifications in much of the same way. Although we would hate to see the internal combustion engine go the way of the dinosaurs, but if future electric vehicles can be as fun as the V2G, we say bring on the electrons.
