When asked what is the greatest kind of Ferrari, a true Ferrarista will almost always finish their answer with the same three letters, GTO. So it is truly a pleasant surprise for us to hear that the Italian super car company has decided to built a an even more powerful GTO version of the 599 GTB Fiorano. The 599 GTO will be based on the 599 XX that we saw at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and will honor the legendary 250 GTO from the 1960s.
The thoroughbred 599 will make extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber, that will drop about 300 pounds from the GT car bringing its curb weight down to 1450 kilograms. The 6.0 Liter V12 will be retuned to deliver somewhere between 680 and 700 HP making the future 599 GTO a real beast.
Set to be revealed next year at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the 599 GTO will cost owners 20-25% more than the standard model, however that will allow them to join the exclusive group of owners because Ferrari will only make 500 units. If you want one of your own then you had better hurry up because it appears that people are already placing deposits on something called the "Ferrari 599 GTO Limited Edition" with deliveries schedule to begin in October of 2010.
If you want to watch car races, you can’t get any better than having two heavyweights slugging it out. In this video, the Ferrari 599 GTB F1 takes on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. It can’t get any more interesting than that.

Well, it was auctioned off today at the Red Gate Gallery in Beijing for a whopping $1.75 million. Unfortunately, the identity of the winning bidder was withheld so we have no idea who he was, although, we do know that he’s probably rich enough to afford paying for this car.
If you recall, this uber-rare Ferrari, which incidentally was based from a limited edition 599 that is going to be exclusively sold in China, was designed by Mr. Hao with pottery patterns from the legendary Song Dynasty.
While the one-off 599 was the highlight of the auction, other Ferrari items were also up for bids, including racing overalls worn by Giancarlo Fisichella, as well as a helmet and model car that has been signed by no less than seven-time F1 world champion, Michael Schumacher.
The auction was done as part of a fund-raising where proceeds generated by the auction would go to the funding of a number of students and teachers from the Department of Automotive Engineering at Tsinghua University. These select group of students and teachers will be given the opportunity to go on a trip to the land of the Prancing Horse – Italy – where they’ll be given a chance to study at Politecnico di Milano University and take up an internship job at Ferrari.
We are always sorry to report about crashed Ferrari, but it happened again! This time a Ferrari 599 GTB was hit by a Renault minivan. The incident was spotted by one of our readers last Monday on Paris.
According to him the Renault was about to leave the roundabout around the Triumphal Arch but has overlooked the Ferrari on its right and cut its nose. After the incident, the 599 GTB was later towed. Apart from the fender bender, the left headlight wasn’t working anymore.
This "special edition" Ferrari 599 Fiorano has been spotted in Düsseldorf, Germany. It features a combination of matte-black exterior paint with matte white funky wrap, that’s kind of "cow-inspired".
Besides the two colors, this special 599 GTB also features black, orange, white, red and gray on the side, where you can also notice a Nürburgring sticker.
We have just learned that the Italian automaker Ferrari is commemorating its 5th anniversary selling cars on Chinese soil with a special edition 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE. Apparently, one of those 599 limited edition GT cars has become unit number 1 of 1 in an even more limited edition lineup. This one-of-a-kind Ferrari, which was also penned by Chinese designer Lu Hao, will be put up for auction at a charity gala that Ferrari will be hosting in Beijing on November 3, 2009.
As the only one that will ever be made, Hao went to painstaking lengths to make it as special as possible. Taking inspiration from the legendary Ge Liln porcelain of the Song Dynasty, Lu etched the pattern into the car. Apart from the specific etching, Hao also added a few more touches to make this special Ferrari even more unique, like the jade start button and gold colored rev counter with ancient Chinese “Xiao Zhuan” script, which also comes as standard issue on the 599 GTB HGTE China Limited Edition.
The exotic Italian automaker Ferrari has just released a special edition model to commemorate their fifth anniversary doing business in the China with a unique take on the 599 GTB Fiorano with HGTE, because when you are Ferrari you go all out. Not only will future collectors of the 599 examples of the China limited edition Ferrari feel the benefits of the GT car’s 6.0 Liter V12 that makes a screaming 612 HP and 448 lb-ft of torque that rockets the better handling Ferrari from 0 to 60 MPH in only 3.7 seconds. The car also comes complete with goodies like the: F1-Super gearbox, F1-Trac system, enhanced manettino, optimized aerodynamics and of course the even more high performance HGTE suspension setup.
Designed in collaboration with Chinese artisan Lu Hao, the Rosso Fuoco 599 China Limited Edition is painted with a silver roof and is adorned with a plaque that identifies the Ferrari as a China edition. The celebratory 599s are rich with highly detailed touches that celebrate the Asian nation’s culture and history. The numbers on the rev counter have been replaced with their representative symbols in Xiao Zhuan script. Not only does the starter button say the word in the same Chinese script, but it is also made of jade. The decorative green stone dates back thousands of years in Chinese history as not only ornamental but ceremonial as well, this makes the precious stone as valuable to them as items like diamonds and gold play in our lives here in the U.S.
This first celebratory model intended for the Ferraristas of China also comes with its own dedicated luggage to fit in the 599’s tight trunk space. The hand crafted leather baggage is decorated with an embroidered map of the ancient Silk Roads that connected China with Africa and the Mediterranean becoming the old world’s first major commercial route. Perhaps this means that Ferrari is planning another cross country celebration for their new car in which owners can pick up their cars at the factory in Maranello and drive them home using their luggage to guide them, although that would most likely never happen, the 599 GTB China Limited Edition will most certainly be an instant classic.
The German tuning house Novitec Rosso is hands down one of the greatest Ferrari tuners of all time. The prancing horse specialists have just released an all new customization package for the fabulous front engine V12 powered Ferrari 599 GTB. Not only does the performance kit include a very striking design and exclusive accessories that accentuate the 599’s beautiful lines, but Novitec has also found an extra 40 HP as part of the high performance upgrade package.
The exterior of the 599 has been modified with a new front spoiler, larger side skirts with incorporated air scoops as well as a new rear wing and diffuser that not only look good but are functional as well. The Novitec kit enhances the already gorgeous body lines of the 599 and only accentuate it wherever they felt appropriate without overdoing it. Finishing off the exterior treatment, the tuned GTB rides on a set of three piece NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 wheels.
The Novitec Rosso 599 sends a super car like 660 HP to the rear wheels thanks to a new engine computer and a full length NOVITEC ROSSO stainless steel high performance exhaust system, while the Ferrari’s top speed is increased to and astounding 208 MPH.
That marquee alone should be enough to draw the attention of car enthusiasts all over the world. It’s the legendary Italian stallion versus the Swedish speed demons. And if you think that this is something that we just cooked up to pique your curiosity, guess again.
Our friends at GT Board actually pitted a Koenigsegg CCR Evo against a Ferrari 599 GTB F1 to determine which supercar can lay claim to being second to none. It’s a must-see video for fans of both brands who have always looked for bragging rights over the other.

The Italian super car builder Ferrari has just announced that the 599XX that was seen at the Geneva Motor Show in concept form will make it into production, even if it is limited. Spy photographers recently caught the track day special testing in Maranello.
Compared to the vehicle that was unveiled at the show in March, the car caught testing included a few changes to the air intakes and vents as well as the rear wing. The production version will feature the latest F1 derived technologies from the Scuderia Ferrari Team, including something called High Performance Dynamic Concept which is an electronic control system that maximizes the car’s mechanical potential in order to achieve the lowest lap times on the track as possible.
The concept 599XX’s engine now delivers 700 HP at 9,000 RPM, up a few ponies from the regular production version. The engine is mated to a new gearbox that is capable of swapping cogs in as little as 60 milliseconds, just what the doctor ordered when battling on track.
