Last month we started bringing you information on BMW working on a hybrid version of the X6 SUV. Today is time to get a little bit closer to X6 Active Hybrid. Latest spy shots caught it testing in Germany with a big (nasty) scoop on the hood. Lets just hope BMW will drop it from the production version.
Set to be revealed at the beginning of 2009 the X6 Active Hybrid will come with a two-mode hybrid system that features two electric motors housed in the hybrid transmission. This transmission means the X6 can run on electric power only. It also allows start-stop running in traffic, boosts the engine under acceleration and recovers energy under braking.
Among the big German tuners, AC Schnitzer was the only tuner who didn’t unveil its customization programme for the Bmw X6. Well today the waiting is over, here is the X6 by AC Schnitzer. The new vehicle features a completely re-designed front bumper with new larger air vents, new side sills and a rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system. Also new custom 22 inch wheels were added.
At the interior the car features a new custom sport steering wheel. New carbon fiber insertions, velour mats and aluminium sport pedals. More details when the official details will be released!
